Products Local service exchange
TimeTraders
In developmentA local service exchange where people trade hours, not money. An hour of your service earns a timestamp you can spend on someone else's. Members list services, book each other and hold a wallet of timestamps, and NGOs can confirm volunteer hours the same way, with a person on each side of every credit.
The rules
- Time is the price
- A service costs exactly its length: quarter-hour units, half an hour minimum, one hour for one timestamp.
- A locked welcome
- Every new member gets one timestamp, locked until they have listed a service and been vouched for by someone real.
- No self-approval
- Members cannot approve their own references. An administrator accepts them.
- Every change kept
- Credits and changes are append-only audit events.
